Hi Jill, I just added one word to the recipe:) “Rinsed” after the measurement. So, measure your rice, then rinse. For brown basmati it depends. I usually use 2 1/2 cups water. You can go up or down depending on how firm or soft you want the finished rice.

You refer to White, Basmati or Brown and give proportions of water to rice, however you don’t specify Brown Basmati.
Would you please advise the quantity of water required for 185gm of Brown Basmati?
I gather the amounts of water recommended are based on having rinsed the rice first?
