We cannot provide medical diagnosis or help. Please do refer to your own medical team. It certainly seems as though a gastroenterologist would be very helpful for you.

I have episodes maybe once a month. Live through them and am just tender the next day. This past cramping 12 hours long was followed by 2 days (and presently) followed by about 25 trips to the bathroom with small diaria attacks. Still cramping occasionally about every hour. Is this abnormal for IBS I have never been clinically diagnosed. I have no need for my surgeon anymore! Just don’t know if I should go to emergency.

Hi there, When we tell our systems to print an article it does tell us how many pages and we have the choice of black and white, no images etc. I guess your printer does not function that way?

Thank you so much for this. The only thing is, I wish the articles here had a print-friendly button like the recipes. You don’t want to know how many pages my printer would use with all the pictures! I’m going to look for a “picture stripper” extension so I can print and share!

My general doctor recommended a mint supplement called IBGuard. I have IBSC that’s heavily influenced by stress. I also got treated for SIBO because of the information on here!! Now my symptoms are much more manageable and what I can eat has greatly improved!

Everyone’s “treatment” and “plan” is unique! So glad you have found what works for you.

My GI just changed the probiotic and put me on a new Rx. I try not to eat if I have to drive anywhere in the AM. I won’t give up drip coffee, which is probably not good. I am a devoted yoga practitioner, but haven’t found the poses to be particularly helpful either as a preventative. I have a gazillion low-FODMAP books, follow all the blogs and GI Twitter.

Having an urge while driving is no one’s idea of fun! Imodium can be very helpful. Have you worked with a registered dietitian to strategize potential additional solution?

I used it for 6 weeks. I think it’s less focused on IBS-D. Also, many of my attacks occur while I’m driving and none of these strategies work for me then. The only thing that works is Imodium and a trip to the bathroom.
